Four strands. One Open Table
Lucid Stories, Open Table Podcast, Open Table Talk and Open Table Show carry The Open Table thread through film, discussion and gathering. Each has its own form, with a shared commitment to honesty, understanding and care for the people involved. All are in development.
The Open Table.
The Open Table connects LPM’s films, conversations and gatherings through a shared approach: careful listening, openness about where information comes from, and space for people to speak for themselves.
The thread takes a different form in each strand. Lucid Stories brings a story into view through film. Podcast opens a longer discussion around it. Talk brings people together in their communities. Show carries the same ethos across broadcast and live experiences.
Branches describe LPM’s areas of work; strands are the things we make. A thread connects strands through a common ethos, even when they sit in different branches. The Open Table is how these four pieces of work belong together.

Lucid Stories
Weekly films · Film and Television
Lucid Stories is LPM’s short documentary film series. Each film gives time and attention to a person, the work they do, or a subject that matters to them, creating a story audiences can watch and understand in its own right.
The films are produced by Lucid Point Media and released before their linked Open Table Podcast episodes. The film is the foundation of that episode: it gives the discussion its subject, context and starting point. Without the film, the episode does not happen.
The planned rhythm is one film each week, aligned with OTP. Release days and launch dates will be announced when confirmed.
A story in its own right
Each film stands on its own as an LPM production. Its purpose is to bring a story into view with context, honesty and care for the people represented.
The foundation of the episode
Watch the film first, then continue into OTP’s two-part discussion. The conversation explores the film, how it was made and the questions it opens.

Open Table Podcast
Weekly episodes · Two parts within the same calendar week
Open Table Podcast begins with a Lucid Stories film. Each episode is a long-form discussion in two parts, giving the guest and host time to explore the story, the decisions behind the film and the wider questions it raises.
The audience joins the conversation between the parts. LPM makes an initial selection of submitted questions for quality, relevance and appropriateness; the guest has the final say on which they answer. The aim is to deepen understanding while respecting the person at the table.
- Discussions, not interviews: space to listen, reflect and develop a thought.
- Filming locations are chosen with the guest for their comfort; there is no fixed studio.
- Celebrity guests sit within Open Table Show’s remit, giving OTP a different focus.
- Guest care remains part of production decisions, including the lasting effect of publishing someone’s story online.
The film comes first
A Lucid Stories film is produced and released before the episode. It can be watched independently and provides the foundation for both parts of the discussion.
Part One
The guest and host explore the film and its making: what went into it, the choices behind it and what it reveals. Clips may be referred to; the discussion builds on the film rather than replaying it.
Your questions
Questions are invited between the parts. Both parts belong to the same weekly episode and are released within the same calendar week. The precise interval and release days are still to be confirmed.
Part Two
The discussion continues through the questions the guest chooses to answer, creating a connection between their story and the audience’s curiosity.

Open Table Talk
Monthly sessions · Live Events and Experiences
Open Table Talk brings The Open Table into the places and communities that host it. The plan is for monthly, in-person sessions held by local Tables, each named for its place and developed with the people who gather there.
Everyone takes a seat at the table. The format gives people room to listen, contribute and explore what matters to their community, with no stage dividing the conversation from the people taking part.
Each local Table is intended to have a continuing place in LPM’s accountability structure through a seat on the planned Community Advisory Board. That structure is still being developed; the Charter will set out how it works.
Everyone at the table
The conversation belongs to those taking part. Local Tables bring people into the same room, with the same opportunity to be present and contribute.
Rooted in its community
A Table takes its name from the place that holds it. It is developed with that community, with a planned connection to LPM’s wider accountability through the Community Advisory Board.

Open Table Show
Broadcast and Audio · Live Events and Experiences
Open Table Show creates a place for celebrity guests within The Open Table. Recognisable voices enter the same wider commitment to honest conversation, thoughtful storytelling and care for the people involved.
The Show belongs to both Broadcast and Audio and Live Events and Experiences. Its identity brings those branches together while giving it a distinct place alongside Podcast and Talk.
A quarterly rhythm is being considered, allowing time for each show to take shape. The final format, production arrangements and dates remain in development and will be shared when confirmed.
A shared ethos
The guests and format may differ from OTP, but the same LPM vow guides the work: openness about what we know, care in how stories are told and respect for those taking part.
Room to develop each show
The current proposal is one show per quarter. That rhythm is provisional; it does not establish a launch date or an announced programme.
Honesty travels with the work.
Every strand is guided by the LPM vow: our conduct, our openness and our word. We explain where information comes from, acknowledge the limits of our knowledge and put mistakes right openly.
The work should justify the time and resources it asks of people. Guest care, community participation and the lasting effects of publication are part of how it is developed. We want audiences to have the context to make up their own minds.
All four strands are in development. The roadmap describes the intended sequence and planned rhythms; programme details and dates will be shared as they are confirmed.
